Tajh
Class 58
Before coming to CCSC, Tajh was in a position many of us have found ourselves: sacrificing work-life balance just to keep a job. He worked as a car detailer, a lifeguard, and a cashier. With the long hours of working multiple low-income jobs, and raising his two children as a single parent – he hoped there was a better way to live than “living to work.” Tajh passed our School every day on his way home and eventually decided to walk into our Café. He wanted more information about our Workforce Training Program, as a good friend attended CCSC. Tajh enrolled in Class 58 and graduated with excellent skills! Chef Ron, executive director of CCSC, provided a job referral as a prep cook at Leroy Fox. Tajh got the job, loves it, and no longer has to work multiple jobs! Months after graduation, Tajh is a regular alumni visitor at the School. He comes back to let his instructors know that “Going to this school was the best decision I ever made.” Tajh appreciates how much the instructors genuinely care for students’ well-being, and how they still remain mentors to him. Tajh has been working at Leroy Fox now for 8 months, and he looks forward to going to work every day. He is responsible for prepping food, cleaning stations and learning how to "expo" the food. When asked about his work environment, Tajh says that everyone, even if they are tired, always has a smile and greets you warmly. Tajh not only likes his job, but he has been able to build a foundation of savings. His first priority was buying a car. Tajh says his next steps are to keep learning from his co-workers, become a chef, and eventually open his own small restaurant. We wish Tajh the greatest success!
