“Cooking is therapeutic to me.” Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Yahdiah moved to Charlotte in February of 2025 to be closer to his brother and start fresh. After being in Charlotte for only three days, he was kicked out of the house due to family issues and has been living in a shelter ever since. The shelter is where Yahdiah learned about CCSC. He decided to enrolled in CCSC to further his culinary knowledge and be able to support himself while in Charlotte. He has always enjoyed cooking, saying his mother was the one who taught him to cook. “Cooking is therapeutic to me.” Outside of class, he works two jobs in the culinary industry. Yahdiah is looking forward to being a sponge in the kitchen during Class 81 and soaking up all the information he can learn. After graduation, he wants to continue working in the culinary industry and possibly open a food truck one day.
