“What God has for me, it won’t pass me by.” Tanquette is a mom of three from Louisiana. She moved to Charlotte two-and-a-half years ago for a fresh start and some independence. She wanted to prove to herself that she was able to make it on her own, without anyone else’s help. She has always loved cooking, and felt that going to school to further her skills was a logical next step in her plan. When Tanquette came across CCSC, she knew it was the place for her because it is hands on, at no cost to students. After graduation, she hopes to continue cooking by finding employment at a local restaurant. Tanquette says it is important to stick to the plan because “God is going to show me every step. What God has for me, it won’t pass me by.”
