Shannon is from Winston-Salem and moved to Charlotte in 1997. She married her high school sweetheart, and they have a 14-year-old son named Ben. Shannon has a lot of great administrative and management experience, working in a placement agency, to most recently, Junior Achievement of the Central Carolinas. When Ben was born, Shannon stayed home to spend more time with him. Now that he is older, she is looking forward to getting back into the workforce. Shannon has been coming to the Café for years, so she is very familiar with CCSC and our mission. She enjoys cooking at home but believes that you can always do something better. Looking to expand her skills, she knew that this would be a great place for learning and to build up some experience. She has had a great time so far, especially enjoying the camaraderie with the other students. After she graduates, she would be interested in doing early morning prep work of breads or pastries.
