Lenore
Class 77

“Get your foot in the door and keep it there.” Lenore says that people are often aware, even if just subconsciously, of what they’re intended for in life. When she saw a food truck for the first time over 20 years ago in Georgia, she knew that the food industry was the path for her. Lenore says that she is tremendously blessed by the path she has been on since then. She started focusing solely on desserts in 2015, after realizing that was her niche. For the past 8 years, she has been self-employed and owns her own business, Cakes & Cognac, LLC. Since then, she has bought a mobile dessert unit trailer that allows her to travel and participate in festivals and events to keep her business growing. Lenore says that the past 8 years has been filled with so much growth, hard work, and learning curves. “It is important to stay in pursuit. Slow and steady wins the race.” Lenore has been working nonstop to pursue her passions because that drive was instilled in her from a very young age by her mother. Before her business got off the ground, her father passed away. “I know he is proud looking down on me and ecstatic by my accomplishments. He was nervous about me getting a trailer and doing it all on my own, being out there at events by myself, but now, honey, I can back a trailer up!” Lenore knows she is leaving a legacy for her four children and wants to make sure they will be taken care of when she is no longer here. “Last year was a year of completion, and this year is a year of new beginnings. I am excited to see what’s next.”
