Gregory
Class 67
Gregory is from Hartsville, SC and came to Charlotte looking for more opportunities as he was rebuilding his life. On May 16, 2015 Gregory was working in Pageland, SC at a Walmart Distribution center. When he drove home from work that day, he was hit by a drunk driver. He spent three days in a coma and considers it a miracle to be alive. He experienced kidney failure and almost a leg amputation, but he was able to finish dialysis successfully, and the doctors were able to rebuild his femur. The accident left him feeling shaken and insecure, but since coming to Charlotte, he feels this is his shot at redemption. COVID-19 delayed Gregory’s enrollment at CCSC, but now that he is here, he loves it. He has really enjoyed that the training has been tailored to each students’ experience level, and he can see that as he progresses, his independence grows. After he graduates, Gregory wants to open his own small restaurant focusing on mission work. He believes that “life happens, and we all go through trial and tribulations, but what happens in the past stays there because he doesn’t live there anymore.” Welcome to Class 67, Gregory!
