Flavia is from Brazil and moved to Charlotte 10 years ago. She and her husband met through mutual friends, and have been married for three years. They also have two young boys, a two year old, and a 15 month old. Flavia has a background in accounting, and it was her husband’s passion for cooking that helped her develop her own cooking skills. They hope to open up their own restaurant one day with a mix of traditional Brazilian dishes and some with an American twist to them. Flavia had attended some cooking classes, but she wanted more in-depth training, so she started searching for culinary schools online and found CCSC. She talked to someone on the phone and quickly applied and enrolled. It’s been a great experience so far, and she enjoys practicing the recipes and techniques she learned that day at home. After she graduates, she would like to continue taking more classes to improve her culinary skills so that she and her husband can open that restaurant together.
