Ebone

Class 81

“It’s time to redeem myself.” Ebone has been in North Carolina her whole life, mostly in the Charlotte area. Ebone’s whole family loves to cook, but she says her passion for cooking comes from her father. Growing up, it was her dad that taught her how to cook and maintain a household. “He has passed now, so each time I cook, it feels like I am honoring him. Cooking makes me feel closer to him.” She doesn’t only cook to honor her dad, but her son as well. Ebone is a single mom to a 6-year-old boy. “My goal is to be happy, to provide, and to protect. It’s all for him.” Ebone says she is motivated to graduate from Class 81 so that she can continue to elevate herself for her family. Ebone first attended CCSC back in 2023, but the timing wasn’t right. “I was homeless at the time and just couldn’t make it work. But I am back now and it’s time to redeem myself. I am grateful for the chefs for welcoming me back with open arms.” After graduation, Ebone is looking to get a job in the hospitality industry so she can continue gaining experience.
