Casandra & Chyna

Class 82

“Cooking is our craft, and it’s a blessing given by God.” Casandra and Chyna are sisters, born and raised in Charlotte, NC. “We were raised on the best soul food in Charlotte, and we come from a family that loves to cook.” As the oldest of four, Casandra naturally took on the responsibility of caring for the household while their mom worked long hours. “I’d make everyone dinner and have everyone to bed by the time she came home from work.” After moving out on their own, both Casandra and Chyna tried many different career paths before they settled on cooking. “We did a little bit of everything. From corporate, to hair and lashes, to CNA training. No matter where we went or what we did, we always came back to the kitchen. God will have you branch out to see what’s before you, but He’ll always bring you back to what you’re meant for.” Eight years ago, they started Everybody Eatz as a way to make extra money on the side. “We started selling plates out of our house just to make more money. We built our business from the ground up. Four years ago, we expanded to a restaurant. This year our business is eight years old.” The sisters enrolled at CCSC “to expand our business, open our horizons, and be able to teach our employees what we are being taught in school. These chefs mentor us each day.” They note how they look forward to coming to School each day, saying “CCSC is playing a major part in the scale up of our business.” After graduation, Casandra and Chyna are looking to renovate their restaurant, add a food truck to the business, and revamp their menu based on what they learned in Class 82. You can find them at Everybody Eatz Wednesday – Sunday at 3720 N Tryon St in Charlotte.
