Britney

Class 68

Britney is from Rock Hill, but currently lives in York, SC. She and her husband have eight kids, ranging from 16 years old to 1 year old twins. Her kids are her absolute pride and joy, and they are at the center of everything she does. Britney loves to cook because her Grandma always had her in the kitchen. Her Mom was on drugs, and her Dad was absent from her life, so her grandparents stepped in to take care of her. She is the oldest of four siblings, so she had to grow up quickly because of her childhood. Britney’s family and friends kept encouraging her to open her own restaurant, but she wanted to do it the right way. Her motto is “When you know better, you do better.” So she looked up culinary schools, and saw that CCSC was not only affordable but had a focus on the community. She says “I love it. I go home happy to have learned new things.” Two of her kids are quickly becoming bakers, so she is excited to teach them as well. After she graduates, Britney wants to open her own food trailer and feed the low-income community. She currently cooks for all of the kids in her housing complex, but she wants to extend that to the entire low-income community. She is thankful that God gave her many talents, and that she’s able to use them. She says, “Keep God first and keep the faith. If you’re fearful about doing something, that means you should do it. You never know what good could come from it.” Welcome to Class 68, Britney!
