Brandon was born and raised in Pageland, SC. He has five kids, ranging in age from 5 to 12. Several years ago, Brandon was stabbed 13 times in a gang-related incident. He says this was a good thing, because it opened his eyes. He doesn’t want someone else raising his kids, and he wants his kids to learn from his mistakes. “That’s what it took to make me finally pursue my passion of cooking,” says Brandon. Brandon researched area culinary schools and applied to both Johnson & Wales and CCSC. On the day that he was slated to begin at Johnson & Wales, Victor called and invited him for an interview. Brandon took the interview and toured CCSC, ultimately deciding that it was a better fit. He’s learned so much at CCSC, but his favorite thing he has learned is how to follow a recipe correctly. He’s also enjoyed cooking in a professional environment and working with his fellow students. Brandon has dreams of a bar and lounge featuring burgers and wings, as well as high-end food options. Today, he’s grateful to be doing something he loves, and he hopes to encourage his children to pursue their dreams.
